Made By Soto Little Heart Story
I made this in a more non-traditional approach and by happy circumstance this necklace became one of my original designs.
Usually jewelry is fully fabricated with wire or sheet in whichever metal you prefer, or a model is carved out of wax and cast. However, during some experimenting, I took some silver and melted it on a charcoal block and when in molten form lightly pressed it with another charcoal block. Once hardened it took on the rough texture of the charcoal and would make a different shape every time.
After a few hundred presses, the Little heart was born! I loved that it hardened into the shape of a heart that’s imperfect and a little rough and organic. I then decided to make a mold of it so it could be in my Made By Soto original lineup of designs. This little heart can be crafted in whichever metal desired.
